Background

There is a cooling tower system for absorption chiller in an industrial plant. Due to the internal policy, chemical is not used to treat the water. However the condensing water temperature is higher than that of vapour compression chiller and therefore the favourite environment to the growth of Legionella is a key concern to the management.

An AquaKLEAR is installed to the header pipe of the condensing water supply.

Result

After several weeks of operation, the water quality is well maintained and no Legionella is detected.
